Women Are For Eating.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And not in a good way. Check out the newest of the ever more heinous Burger King ads aimed at "men" (if by "men" you mean the construction of men in these ads as angry resentful slobs intent on hastening their own demise in some kind of misguided attempt to turn back the gender clock).

Once again, Irony+Sexism=Sexism, plain and simple.

Ugh - awful. You're right. The way you get to personalize your showgirls/condiments seems particularly insidious.

I saw one of the other BK commercials for the first time just last week, during Saturday Night Live, and after it was over I said to my partner, "was that real, or an SNL send-up?" and was totally horrified to discover it was real. Ugh.

The whole spate of new BK ads turns my stomach. It depresses me utterly to know that these ads are targeting my (male) students, the coveted 18-24 yr old males who eat nothing but fast food.
